“I was idle, now I have skills”

Brian (20) completed secondary school but had no clear path forward. He spent most days at home or with friends, feeling frustrated and dependent on his family. He had no vocational skills, limited digital literacy, and no idea how to access job opportunities.

Through EEO’s Employability and Digital Skills Development component, Brian joined a cohort of out-of-school youth receiving vocational and technical training, digital literacy, and career guidance. He learned basic computer skills, how to search for jobs online, and how to prepare a CV and attend interviews.

By the end of the training, Brian had a clearer sense of the kind of work he wanted to pursue and the skills he needed to get there. He applied for an internship with a local business and was selected. The experience gave him references, confidence, and a taste of the workplace.
