Who We Are
A Community of Learning, Empowerment and Transformation
Educate and Empower Organization (EEO) is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 and formally registered in 2022 under the Community Groups Registration Act No. 30 of 2022 (Registration No. DSD/43/246/02/20949). EEO works to empower vulnerable girls, youth, and communities in Rachuonyo East Sub-County, Homa Bay County through education support, mentorship, life-skills and leadership development, vocational and digital skills training, entrepreneurship support, and community advocacy.

“I was about to drop out of Form Two because my parents could not afford my school fees. EEO stepped in and connected me with Jennifer MC, who has paid my school fees each year. I was also connected with a volunteer mentor, Winnie, who has checked on me at the end of every term and guided my career development. Today, I am in Form Four, preparing to sit for my final KCSE examinations. I am determined to transition to university and pursue my dreams.”

“Before participating in EEO’s financial literacy program, I had little understanding of how to manage money effectively or plan for my future. Through the training, I gained practical skills in budgeting, saving, goal setting, and making informed financial decisions. I learned the importance of tracking my expenses, prioritizing my needs, and developing a savings culture. Inspired by these lessons, I opened my first savings account with KCB Bank-Oyugis Branch. Today, I feel more confident about managing my finances and working toward my personal and economic goals.”

''Before the menstrual hygiene sessions, many girls in our community missed school during their periods because they lacked information, confidence, and access to proper hygiene practices. Through the training and support provided by EEO-Kenya, I gained the knowledge and skills to educate adolescent girls on menstrual health and create safe spaces where they could ask questions without fear or shame. Today, I have seen remarkable changes, girls are more confident, better informed, and more comfortable managing their periods with dignity.
